Asbestos Testing & Surveying

If you have a commercial premises built prior to 2004 it MUST have an asbestos register. Failure to do so can lead to fines up to $35,000

If you suspect you have asbestos on site, then a survey needs to take place. This can be done one of two ways:

  1. We will send an experienced asbestos surveyor to your site to take the required samples of the suspected asbestos containing materials (ACM) using the correct and safe methods. We will always leave the sample point in a safe, sealed condition once the sampling is completed. This is the most preferred option. This is the safest and most practical way of completing this task.
  2. You could bring a wrapped suspected asbestos sample to our office directly where we will then ensure it is safely transported to the laboratory.

How Asbestos Testing Works

Once we have the suspect asbestos sample it will be sent to a Perth accredited laboratory for testing. This process allows the laboratory to break down the product in a controlled environment to determine which type of asbestos – if any – are present within the material. They will determine whether it is: amosite (brown asbestos), chrysotile (white asbestos) or crocidolite (blue asbestos).

Once identified then KBE Asbestos team can offer a properly tailored solution.
